Formed in late 2024 in Chiang Mai Thailand, Dada Sun blends feral garage rock energy with art-rock instincts. The trio – Julian Rogers (vocals/guitar), Michael Oakley (bass), and Davis Campbell (drums) – met through the city’s small but thriving experimental music scene. Their backgrounds stretch from the U.S. to Asia:
- Rogers (Nashville, USA) – guitarist, painter, and songwriter with a history in experimental and
rock projects across the U.S. - Oakley (Arkansas, USA) – guitarist/bassist and noise performer with international experience
in Korea, Myanmar, and Thailand. - Campbell (Texas, USA) – drummer with deep roots in jazz, hip hop, and rock across both
continents.
Their debut release, the Slingshot EP (October 2025), was recorded on a Tascam 4-track cassette and set the tone for the band’s raw, live-first ethos. Their follow up Saccades in Spades expands that vision – still unpolished but now reaching widescreen proportions.
Dada Sun continues to evolve while keeping one foot in the rehearsal room and the other on stage.
